Sizing Tips

Instead of universal sizing, we built two separate molds (S/M and L/XL). Helmets should be snug but comfortable. You shouldn't notice much movement of the helmet as you ride. While the FTA system dial and extra pad sizes help you dial in the right fit, you still need to choose the correct shell size. Please refer to the sizing guide above. If you find yourself in between sizes, it's usually best to size up as you can use the extra pads and FTA to get it right.

SUPER VENTING

The Corvair's signature feature is the unique channel design for air flow. As much as you like the thrill of riding down the trail, the ride up is usually grueling and hot. Corvair has 17 vents distributed across the helmet. However, the secret sauce is in the unique ridged channels inside the helmet. This allows air to pass through the helmet more efficiently while cooling more of your head. Corvair is perfect for riding in any temp, but especially effective in the heat.

A WORKHORSE HELMET

Corvair is lightweight, low profile and designed with style in mind. This two-piece shell helmet is made from the highest grade EPS foam available wrapped in a polycarbonate shell. The visor is slightly oversized to provide max coverage from the sun and can be adjusted smoothly to three different positions. Each helmet comes with two separate liners of varying thickness to get just the right fit. Corvair also comes equipped with our FTA sizing system. The Corvair is CPSC 16 CFR 1203 certified for cycling use.

FINE TUNE ADJUSTMENTS

Getting the right fit is paramount to helmet performance. Each Corvair has an adjustment knob which will tighten/loosen the sizing cage of the helmet. With two different shell sizes and accompanying extra pad liners, you will be able to dial in a fit that is just right for your noggin.

We designed the Corvair helmet in our Draper, UT office. We believe in designing gear for the sports we know and love. With trail systems accessible just a few minutes from our office door, we carefully tested the Corvair helmet with local riders to ensure optimal performance and value.

Great Helmet

Replaced my Giro helmet with this Wildhorn Outfitters Mt Bike helmet and have been very satisfied. I was concerned about profile and fit since I was ordering something I have never seen or worn before. I was pleasantly surprised and very satisfied with the fit of this helmet. The helmet is very well made, super comfortable and has a low profile that I was hoping for. The profile is sleek and does not have the bobble head, space balls bubble head aspect that many bicycling helmets have. I am a cross country rider and this helmet provides me with more than adequate protection with construction and materials that should outlast my previous two Giros and one Specialized helmets I have had. Adequate venting and airflow also is a great feature.

BEWARE “OPEN BOX” PURCHASES

I measured my head and the helmet should have fit, but when I received it, wasn’t close to fitting. I tried to return it when I realized OPEN BOX purchases are not returnable. While it is my fault for not paying close enough attention, it is a little sneaky. The top of the page had a banner that said “Free shipping over $50. Free 30 day returns.” There should be a window that pops up saying item is not returnable, or something to make it a little more clear. Helmet itself was nice looking just wish sizing was a little more accurate.
